In the event organized by İstinye University Sociology Department, Dr. Ayça Yılmaz Deniz gave a talk titled “Working Experience in Turkey and the Issue of Becoming a Subject.” In the presentation, based on Dr. Ayça Yılmaz Deniz’s doctoral dissertation written at Paris Descartes University, Yılmaz Deniz has shared her examinations and results about the social platforms formed around the problems expert workers face in their work lives, who define themselves as “white collar.” The seminar, where the individuals’ expectations from work life, becoming a subject through occupation and the will to be liberated, the companies’ promises on the creation of subjectivities, their strategies about the workers and the worker’s thoughts about these have been discussed through exemplary cases, was organized with the participation of Sociology department faculty and students.
