The conference “Youth in Istinye University is Meeting with Saadet Teacher” took place at Topkapı Campus of Istinye University with the participation of Saadet ÖZKAN, Chairman of the Saadet Teacher Association for Struggle with Child Abuse.
Students of Istinye University showed great interest to the conference which started with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. M. Rita KRESPİ, Head of Psychology Department, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Istinye University. Saadet ÖZKAN, who shared her struggle on child abuse and the activities of the association with the students through her experiences, answered the questions that the students were curious about. Saying that children should be informed about abuse from young ages, Saadet ÖZKAN draw attention to the importance of being conscious about the subject with her statement of “If children face with a problem, they should tell about it to the people they trust. They should call 183 and explain the situation”.
