Istanbul University Faculty of Letters Head of the Department of Old Turkish Language Prof. Dr. Fikret Turan evaluated the past, current position and possible future developments of the Turkish language in the seminar titled "Turkology's Past, Present, Tomorrow". Emphasizing the importance of educators and researchers in mastering language and linguistics, Turan continued his speech through the works of people who served in Turcology since Mehmet Fuat Köprülü, the first professor in ordinary of the Republic. Turan, who shared the benefits of getting a qualified Turkish language education with the students, also gave information about the stage of the works of Turkic Republics on creating a common alphabet. The seminar ended after Prof.Dr.Fikret Turan answered the questions posed by the audience.
