Gamze Gürleyen, Research Assistant at the Department of English Translation and Interpreting, visited Finland HUMAK University of Applied Sciences on December 4-8, 2023 as part of Erasmus Staff Training Mobility. She had the opportunity to observe different teaching and practice methods in the field of interpreting by attending the lectures of hearing and deaf faculty members at the Department of Sign Language Interpreting.

On December 19, 2023, researchers from HUMAK University of Applied Sciences in Finland, Stockholm University in Sweden, Istinye University, Turkish Confederation of the Deaf and Association of Sign Language Interpreters in Turkey came together in an online transnational meeting.

TÜBİTAK 2209-A - Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students 2023/1st term call results has been announced. A total of 14 project applications were accepted from different departments of our Faculty, including Turkish Language and Literature (8), Philosophy (2), Psychology (2), English Language and Literature (1) and Sociology (1).

We congratulate our students and advisors and wish them continued success.

Dr. Seda Kurt, a member of the academic staff in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at İstinye University, has been awarded support for post-doctoral research project by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) within the scope of the 2219-International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program for Turkish Citizens. Over a period of 6 months, she will be conducting research as a scholar at Ruhr Bochum University, with Professor Dr. Hülya Çelik serving as her project advisor.

Dr. Ezgi Ildırım Özcan from the Department of Psychology was entitled to support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-C Natural Disasters Focused Field Study Emergency Support Program with the project titled "Screening of Psychological Well-Being of Earthquake Victims Taking Part in Rescue Efforts".

The project titled "Adaptation of the Recipes in Ali Eşref Dede's Food Treatise", of which our undergraduate student Dilan Durmuş from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is among the scholarship holders, was entitled to support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209-A - University Students Research Projects Support Program.

The study by Res. Asst. F. Berna Uysal from the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences which is supported by TÜBİTAK 2224-A was granted the Graduate Student Award by the conference organizers.

Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dr. Feyzi Çimen's book "Molla Muhammed Timur Âsârü'l-İmâmiyye Çağatayca Kelile ve Dimne Tercümesi" was published by DBY Publications. The book has the distinction of being the first scientific publication of "Kelile and Dimna".

The projects of sociology students Esra Öztürk, Esen Deniz Sayıklı and Sena Şevval Özbıyık were entitled to receive support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program.

Organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature every year since 2018, the event "Practical Lesson at Topkapı Palace" took place on Wednesday, May 11, under the guidance of Ahmet Atilla ŞENTÜRK.
